What is a DIN connector?

Some older DIN connectors use a polarized, two-pin unshielded plug for connections to loudspeakers and amplifiers. These DIN connectors contain both a central flat pin and a circular pin. By contrast, circular and cylindrical DIN connectors are multi-pin devices used for external interfaces in aerospace and military applications.

What is the difference between Din & mini DIN connectors?

They are still round, but with the pins arranged in horizontal rows rather than in a circular pattern. Mini-DIN connectors are used for S-video connections, PS/2 mouse & keyboards, and some other applications. DIN and mini-DIN connectors are both held in place by the friction of the connector body and by pins.

What is a circular DIN connector?

A distinguishing feature of circular DIN connectors is the metal shielding skirt that provides protection for the straight round pins. Seven-pin connectors, for instance, come in two variations, with outer pins forming either 300° or 360°, or 270°.
